Little Women LA: Terra’s Big House

The TV drama of a full home remodel may be high, but the results from the kitchen reveal on Little Women LA: Terra’s Big House on Lifetime are stunning!

During the season, Terra and her husband Joe, embark on a huge renovation to make their home Little People friendly. But with a long wish list and tiny budget, designers Stephanie and Cory from Covet Living Interiors are challenged to redo the guesthouse before being hired to work on the main house. Although there were many challenges, we think they did an amazing job.

Our handmade Fountaine Antique cement tile pattern was used to add visual interest, and some texture, to the mostly white kitchen. The 2 color pattern works great with the stainless steel appliances and ties the whole space together.

The kitchen design team was able to achieve their goal of creating a newly accessible space, while creating visual beauty in a kitchen that can truly be called home!

Tacodeli – Dallas, TX

The wildly popular Tacodeli in Dallas, TX uses a playful arrangement of our solid color hexagon cement tiles to surround the restaurant and create a really unique space. Tacodeli, which creates handcrafted tacos with local and organic ingredients, now has 10 locations in Dallas, Austin and Houston.

Four solid colors of our handmade cement tile were used in this cool combination on the restaurant walls and booths – Pacific Black, Pacific Grey, Pacific Light Grey and Pacific White. The brightly colored chairs and tables, covered with fun graphic art add to the fun vibe of the restaurant. Big windows give the space an airy and welcoming feel.

Estereo – Chicago, IL

Estereo, in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, is a Latin American and Caribbean inspired spot serving great drinks and playing vintage Latin sounds on vinyl. The all day bar serves coffee in the AM and drinks cocktails in the PM to handle your thirst whenever you drop in!

The stylish, triangular bar has a distinctive look with its vintage tables and stools, cool brickwork and giant barn doors to open on a beautiful day. The floor of the space also features our unique Taza cement tile pattern from the Pacific Collection, in Ruby and White, to complete the look.

Scottsdale Design Center – Now Open!

We are thrilled to officially announce the opening of our second brick and mortar design center in Scottsdale, AZ! The new West Coast location supports our Phoenix distribution center and partners our Tampa showroom and distribution center on the East Coast.

The design center is located in Old Town Scottsdale at:

7051 E 5th Ave, Suite H, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.

Designed by Tampa based Junto Design Studio, the location features hundreds of handmade cement tile designs, most of which are in stock. The design center is a great opportunity to let clients see, feel and touch the product and obtain samples. The design center is interactive and allows customers see in stock product, as well as, mix and match colors to create custom tiles.

Cement Tile Shop tiles have been featured on popular shows such as HGTV’s Fixer Upper, House Hunters Renovation and Property Brothers. Dallas hot spot Dos Jefes embodies the zest, freedom and passion of Latin and Asian heritages, cuisine and spirits in an exciting tequila bar atmosphere. Artful and savory Latin-asian tapas are paired perfectly with handcrafted cocktails in a high-energy social lounge.

This playful space uses our in stock Circulos Black 12″ x 12″ pattern. This large format (most standard cement tiles are 8″ x 8″) classic pattern in black and white ties the space together inside and out. It is even used on the outdoor patio and looks amazing with the hardwood and black steel finishes.

Finn’s Southern Kitchen – Louisville, KY

The newly-opened Finn’s Southern Kitchen in Louisville is housed in the former offices of an 1800 era cotton mill. The building was recently converted into Finn’s restaurant while preserving many of its deco features such as the glass blocking, flooring, moldings, entrance features as well as returning the windows to their original size and splendor.

We are pleased that our in stock Diagonal VI handmade cement tile in Light Green and White was used as a focal point behind the bar.

Finn’s serves southern food prepared from locally sourced ingredients in beautiful surroundings creating a cherished repose from which to enjoy a comfortable meal. Specialties include homemade biscuits, fresh salads, sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken and fish along with craft beers from local breweries.

Flagship Showroom! – Tampa, FL

Cement Tile Shop is so excited to announce that we will be opening our flagship retail design showroom…and what better place to do that than in our own backyard?

We are thrilled to be joining our favorite neighborhood, Seminole Heights, in Tampa, FL. The historic, hip, thriving neighborhood is a perfect match with the products we offer.

The showroom will be a great place to check out many of our patterns and will be a great resource for architects, designers and retail clients. It will also provide a hands-on, interactive environment to experiment with colors and custom patterns.

Although we hope to have our design center open in June, the building will also house our new offices, with a completion date in the next few weeks. Construction is well underway, so stay tuned for more info and pics. We hope you are as excited as we are!

J. Crew – London

Cement Tile Shop was thrilled to recently provide our handmade cement tile for the new J.Crew location in East London. J.Crew Redchurch is a men’s only location and the seventh J.Crew store in the UK. Installation was completed by Bridgford Interiors Limited.

The project, using our solid black and solid white cement tiles, involved laying the tiles in various patterns throughout the store. Using solid tiles allowed for flexible pattern layouts to distinguish and separate different areas within the store. The black and white floor gives the store a classic, masculine feel.

Patchwork Random – Fairfax, VA

Jordan Design-Build Group is a full-service residential design-build firm serving the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. For a recent remodel project a client wanted to go big and bold in the kitchen whilst maintaining an eclectic style. Using our Patchwork Random selection of colorful cement tiles, they created a ceiling-high backsplash that acts as the focal point of the room. (All photos © 2015 Stacy Zarin-Goldberg Photography.)

A custom banquette filled with colorful pillows coordinates with the backsplash and anchors the light-filled corner of the kitchen, creating a cozy breakfast nook. They also installed a richly patterned pressed tin ceiling to add vintage flair to an often overlooked part of a room. Eye-catching black trim makes the windows pop and completes this bold kitchen makeover.

Bordeaux – St. Louis Park, MN

Post World War II homes are not necessarily known for their open layouts. Crush Collective, designers based in Minneapolis, MN, took on this 1950’s-era kitchen design challenge. The goal was to accommodate a family four, while incorporating a chef’s kitchen and creating a clean, simple room filled with style.

Working closely with the clients, the designers came up with thoughtful and creative design solutions. Everything in the kitchen needed to have a purpose and place, and at the same time had to reflect the artful nature of the client.

Our Bordeaux pattern was chosen to create visual interest as a backsplash over the stove and behind the hood. The handmade cement tile is a showstopper and gives the space instant personality. After looking at these pictures, we think you’ll agree!

The chalkboard for family notes and inspirations, bold light fixtures and quartzite counters all add to the overall beauty of the space and help to make the cement tile pop.
