Before and After Kitchen Renovation – Baltimore, MD

Sometimes when you see a completed renovation, all you can say is wow! This kitchen renovation from Delbert Adams Construction Group in Baltimore, MD went from dark and dated to light, bright and modern. Designed by Sunnyfields Cabinetry, the space is a definite showstopper.

The original dark brown cabinets were replaced with blue ceiling height replacements that make the space seem more expansive. New white countertops were added to modernize and brighten up the surfaces. Finally, our handmade Leon cement tiles were added to give pattern and visual interest to the backsplash.

Cement Tile as Art – Phoenix, AZ

Our handmade cement tile is art and this kitchen is a beautiful gallery!

A custom version of our Vine pattern was used as an accent rug surrounding the kitchen island and as a stunning backsplash in this Phoenix, AZ home. The tile rug frames the island perfectly, really making it a focal point. The Vine pattern is a favorite in our Mexican Classic Collection.

Finn’s Southern Kitchen – Louisville, KY

The newly-opened Finn’s Southern Kitchen in Louisville is housed in the former offices of an 1800 era cotton mill. The building was recently converted into Finn’s restaurant while preserving many of its deco features such as the glass blocking, flooring, moldings, entrance features as well as returning the windows to their original size and splendor.

We are pleased that our in stock Diagonal VI handmade cement tile in Light Green and White was used as a focal point behind the bar.

Finn’s serves southern food prepared from locally sourced ingredients in beautiful surroundings creating a cherished repose from which to enjoy a comfortable meal. Specialties include homemade biscuits, fresh salads, sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken and fish along with craft beers from local breweries.

It’s a question we get all of the time! Well, we finally have a better answer than it must be special ordered with a 8-12 week lead time.

We now stock 4″ x 4″ solid colors of our handmade cement tile in black, white and grey. These smaller tiles work great for kitchen backsplashes, bathrooms, shower floors and bar areas. They also look amazing when mixed together with our larger 8″ or 12″ solid cement tiles and coordinate with many of our most popular patterns. The possibilities are endless!

Patchwork Random – Fairfax, VA

Jordan Design-Build Group is a full-service residential design-build firm serving the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. For a recent remodel project a client wanted to go big and bold in the kitchen whilst maintaining an eclectic style. Using our Patchwork Random selection of colorful cement tiles, they created a ceiling-high backsplash that acts as the focal point of the room. (All photos © 2015 Stacy Zarin-Goldberg Photography.)

A custom banquette filled with colorful pillows coordinates with the backsplash and anchors the light-filled corner of the kitchen, creating a cozy breakfast nook. They also installed a richly patterned pressed tin ceiling to add vintage flair to an often overlooked part of a room. Eye-catching black trim makes the windows pop and completes this bold kitchen makeover.

Bordeaux – St. Louis Park, MN

Post World War II homes are not necessarily known for their open layouts. Crush Collective, designers based in Minneapolis, MN, took on this 1950’s-era kitchen design challenge. The goal was to accommodate a family four, while incorporating a chef’s kitchen and creating a clean, simple room filled with style.

Working closely with the clients, the designers came up with thoughtful and creative design solutions. Everything in the kitchen needed to have a purpose and place, and at the same time had to reflect the artful nature of the client.

Our Bordeaux pattern was chosen to create visual interest as a backsplash over the stove and behind the hood. The handmade cement tile is a showstopper and gives the space instant personality. After looking at these pictures, we think you’ll agree!

The chalkboard for family notes and inspirations, bold light fixtures and quartzite counters all add to the overall beauty of the space and help to make the cement tile pop.

House Crashers – DIY Network

Who doesn’t love a good episode of House Crashers!

I know we do.

The hugely popular series, on the DIY Network, follows host Josh Temple as he tries to find a random customer at a home improvement store that will agree to take him to his/her house to help with a home project. After finding a “troubled” area of the home, Josh surprises the individual by agreeing to do a full remodel of the space. The project is then completed in a few short days with the help of the homeowner and friends.

We are thrilled that the show used our Bouquet II pattern in an episode of this season’s show. The episode is titled “Arched Mediterranean Kitchen” (Season 11, Episode 2) and follows a couple as they get a complete kitchen renovation. Our handmade cement tile is used on the kitchen backsplash to create a unique centerpiece for the space. The Bouquet cement tile pattern blends in perfectly with the new kitchen’s Mediterranean theme.

Patchwork Cement Tile Options

We have a new addition to our popular handmade cement tile patchwork collection!

For the first time, we now offer our random patchwork in 4″ x 4″ cement tiles. These tiles are offered in a thinner thickness than our standard tiles. They are only 15/32″ thick (1.2cm). This size and thickness of cement tile is a perfect option for kitchen backsplash and decorative wall applications. Perfect for residential or commercial applications. Better yet, this option is in stock and ready to ship!

Random – 4″ x 4″:

As with all of our Patchwork cement tile offerings, each option is a random selection of handmade cement tiles shuffled at the factory. We have no control over the patterns included. For more direct control of the patchwork consider adding additional boxes of tile patterns from our Pacific Collection.

Traditional 8″ x 8″ cement tiles in a standard thickness (5/8″) from our Pacific Collection are also offered in several color options as well as random.
